Belize Customs Information – HHGlogistics

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

• Your passport
• Non-nationals require a residence permit or work permit
• Inventory list of shipment

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS

• CUSTOMERS PRESENCE REQUIRED FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
• Used household goods and belongings may import duty-free if used & owned for at least one year before shipping.
• All items must arrive in Belize within six months of owners arrival

RESTRICTED ITEMS/DUTIABLE

• Items that are considered new (owned & used for less than one year) are dutiable, and a purchase invoice will be required
• New, duty-free items include: computers, stoves, refrigerators and most sports equipment

MOTOR VEHICLES

• All automobiles are examined by Customs
• Process requires ownership papers
• Duties may apply
• Boats also require import permit (very difficult to obtain for boats made of wood)
