IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WOODEN CONTAINERS:

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has imposed immediate and severe restrictions on entry of lift vans/crates/pallets/wooden air vans and so on, in order to protect Brazilian crops/flora/fauna from what is known in the USA as the Chinese Bug (Anoplophora Glabripennis).
The Brazilian requirements for wooden units are as follows:

  • Wooden units being imported require a fumigation certificate issued by the proper official government agency in country of origin
  • Certification required showing woods has been treated with fumigation, heat or other types of previously agreed upon chemical product
  • Fumigation of wood should be completed no more than 15 days prior to shipment
  • Wooden crates/pieces/units that arrive in Brazil without required certification will either be incinerated at customer’s expense or be treated, if possible, in Brazil
  • We recommend you completely refrain from utilizing wood for packing purposes for all shipments to Brazil. Instead we advise you to:
    • For surface shipments loose pack all items in metal containers
    • Utilize tri-wall air containers (air shipments)
    • For paintings, glass or mirrors use mirror cartons
  • If lift vans or crates are necessary to ship, then the proper certifications must accompany the cargo
