Jordan Customs Information – HHGlogistics
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Original passport
- Rental contract
- Residence visa
- Residence permit
- Work permit
- Detailed inventory list (PBO “packed by owner” and misc. “miscellaneous” NOT accepted)
- Copy of house lease contract (if available); as well as admission to school certificate for children (if applicable)
CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
- All shipments inspected
- Used household goods subject to duty
- Shipments required to arrive within 6 months of customer
- Returning Jordanians may import household goods and personal items duty-free provided the following:
- Goods have been in possession of and used by customer before import
- Continued to be used by customer while in Jordan
- Consistent with customer’s standing
RESTRICTED ITEMS/DUTIABLE
- Musical instruments, radio sets, electrical appliances and carpets
- New and some used furniture
- New items
- Washing machines, refrigerators, and microwave ovens
PROHIBITED ITEMS
- Drugs
- Alcoholic beverages
- Ammunition and weapons
- Wireless equipments including CB and walkie-talkies
- ALL PRINTED MATERIALS INCLUDING: PICTURES, BOOKS, FILMS, RECORDS, SLIDES, TAPES, MOVIES, COMPACT DISCS, VIDEOS, COMPUTER SOFTWARE, AND SO ON. THESE ITEMS ARE SUBJECT TO CENSORSHIP AND CONFISCATION – **MUST BE PACKED SEPARATELY FOR EASY ACCESS**
MOTOR VEHICLES
- Automobiles 5 years or older are not permitted for import
- Vehicles are highly taxed and depends on owner’s immigration status
- Requires 3 copies of registration
