Jordan Customs Information – HHGlogistics

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Original passport
  • Rental contract
  • Residence visa
  • Residence permit
  • Work permit
  • Detailed inventory list (PBO “packed by owner” and misc. “miscellaneous” NOT accepted)
  • Copy of house lease contract (if available); as well as admission to school certificate for children (if applicable)

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS

  • All shipments inspected
  • Used household goods subject to duty
  • Shipments required to arrive within 6 months of customer
  • Returning Jordanians may import household goods and personal items duty-free provided the following:
    • Goods have been in possession of and used by customer before import
    • Continued to be used by customer while in Jordan
    • Consistent with customer’s standing

RESTRICTED ITEMS/DUTIABLE

  • Musical instruments, radio sets, electrical appliances and carpets
  • New and some used furniture
  • New items
  • Washing machines, refrigerators, and microwave ovens

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Drugs
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Ammunition and weapons
  • Wireless equipments including CB and walkie-talkies
  • ALL PRINTED MATERIALS INCLUDING: PICTURES, BOOKS, FILMS, RECORDS, SLIDES, TAPES, MOVIES, COMPACT DISCS, VIDEOS, COMPUTER SOFTWARE, AND SO ON. THESE ITEMS ARE SUBJECT TO CENSORSHIP AND CONFISCATION – **MUST BE PACKED SEPARATELY FOR EASY ACCESS**

MOTOR VEHICLES

  • Automobiles 5 years or older are not permitted for import
  • Vehicles are highly taxed and depends on owner’s immigration status
  • Requires 3 copies of registration
