Morocco Customs Information – HHGlogistics
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Original passport
- Original residence visa
- Original Work certificate from employer or work permit
- Original certificate of residence change issued by local authority at point of departure
- Inventory listed in French
- Signed letter of authorization allowing destination agent to clear shipment
CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
- Your presence is NOT required for customs clearance
- May import household goods and personal effects duty-free if:
- In reasonable quantities
- Owned and used for more than 6 months
- If importing 2 shipments, second must arrive no later than 6 months after the first has arrived
- Shipments are physically inspected
RESTRICTED ITEMS/DUTIABLE
- New items (less than 6 months old) require a commercial invoice
- Beverages and food
- Electrical items and electronics are dutiable; must load near container door for easy access
- Antiques
- To import portable phones requires the approval of the Ministry of P.T.T.
- Medicine requires a permit from the Ministry of Health
- Ammunition and weapons; requires a hunting permit and firearm acquisition certificate. Only the importation of smooth-barreled hunting weapons permitted.
- Records, books, cassettes and compact disks require:
- A list stating the title and name of author for each
- Will be viewed by the Ministry of Information before censorship visa is granted. Place all dutiable/restricted items near container doors for easy access
PROHIBITED ITEMS
- Pornographic and politically sensitive materials
- Moroccan currency
- Drugs and narcotics
- Walkie-talkies
- Tobacco products and alcoholic beverages
- Explosives
MOTOR VEHICLES
- All vehicles subject to high duties
- Permission to circulate is granted for a 3 month period. After this, you are required to pay customs duty or export the vehicle
- Required documents are as follows:
- Import license
- Original car license
- Passport
- Invoice
- Auto paperwork
PETS
- Requires a health care certificate dated no more than 14 days before departure
