Pakistan Customs Information – HHGlogistics
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Passport
- Foreign nationals require a work permit or NOC from Investment Promotion Bureau, Government of Pakistan
- Foreign nationals require a letter from employer stating will be stationed in Pakistan for 3 years
- Employer certificate
- Pakistan nationals require a copy of their National Identity Card
- Transfer of residence certificate
- Descriptive inventory listing the contents of each carton and lift van
- All shipments loose in steamship container require a bank guarantee, customer/account must be advised before shipment moves
CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
- YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUIRED IN COUNTRY AT TIME OF CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
- If in reasonable quantity, used household goods and personal effects may be duty-free
- New or used furniture require the following:
- Form “A” customs
- Passport
- Packing/invoice
- Employee certificate
- Foreign nationals require proof that they are returning permanently
- Allowed under personal baggage or transfer to residence
- Your presence is required for clearance
RESTRICTED ITEMS/DUTIABLE
- Invoices and receipts are required for import of all electrical items, major appliances and new items; duties also apply
- Duties apply to tobacco products, toiletries, perfumes and foodstuffs
PROHIBITED ITEMS
- Alcohol – will be confiscated at port of entry
- Drugs
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition and explosives. Import of these items requires an exemption certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Islamabad
- Pornographic materials and statues
- Recorded VCR tapes and other movies
MOTOR VEHICLES
- The importation of vehicles is only allowed for diplomats and Pakistani Nationals
- Duties apply and vary from 10090 to value (cost plus freight)
- The following documents are required:
- Passport
- Import permit
- Old registration book/invoice
PETS
- Health care certificate
- Requires owner’s passport for entry
- Your presence is required for clearance
- Allowed to be accompanied or unaccompanied baggage
